How 2021 Can Be Your Best Year Ever




We're about to say goodbye to 2020 and I'm so glad. It's time for a positive shift in so many areas; family, friends, work, spiritual, recreational, and fun all could vastly improve for 2021.


When I say improve, I mean, come on! Let's make 2021 better than 2020 or even your best year EVER! How can this be possible you might ask... Because after all I've gone through losing a daughter, I believe that my life can transform into something more beautiful than it has been.


If I can believe this for my life, then so can you!


Personally, this year has been very revealing for me. I've discovered that in January of 2020 the intense grief that I was experiencing daily has now decided to come in waves throughout the year. (If you've lost a loved one, then you might know what I'm talking about.)


I've realized that I have about one month out of the year that doesn't have any negative triggers and then the other eleven months totally suck. I don't want to live like this. I don't want to dread each coming month because of the painful memories of the past.


One of the insights that I've learned as a Life Coach is that if you want your life to improve then you have to change your thinking.


If I look at my calendar for my life, it will always be full of painful memories. There's always going to be holidays, birthdays, and remembrance of life events -good and bad. I can't change the memories I have. I can, however, change my thinking going forward.


I am determined to make 2021 better than 2020.



I've decided to keep a journal for the next year. Each month I am going to write something that I appreciate about that month. I'm going to focus on and anticipate the good.


I'm creating a positive shift for myself because I can't depend on someone or something else to do this for me.


It's up to me to change my thinking.


Focusing on the good won't bring my daughter back from Heaven, but neither will focusing on the negative triggers of each month. What it will do is help me improve my life for 2021 and the years ahead.



Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9 NIV



So goodbye 2020 and hello 2021, you're going to be amazing!
