A Glimpse of Heaven Through the Eyes of My Daughter

Death is a shadow for all of us. For some, it will lead to eternal suffering and for others, it will lead to eternal joy. For those in relationship with Jesus, it is not something to be feared, but like an adventure, to be anticipated. For when it's our time to close our eyes here in this world, we will open them up to something more beautiful than we could ever have imagined.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 NKJV

The day that my 19 year old daughter Taylor was about to go on her greatest adventure.

That day,Taylor began to get a glimpse of what was waiting for her.

Due to her physical condition that the cancer had put her in, she had become very limited in her communication. You see, the type of cancer she had was growing on her spinal cord within her spine and had reached the base of her brain stem. The cancer was blocking her brain to send the signals to be able to breathe deeply and be able to speak more than a whisper. -and the whisper took incredible effort on her part. So at this point, she communicated through blinking her eyes when asked yes or no questions.

At different times throughout that day, her eyes would get really big and I sensed that she was seeing something beyond this world. I would ask her, "Are you seeing something scary? Are you seeing Angels? Are you seeing Jesus?" In between each question I would wait for a blink. We had agreed that the blink would mean "yes".

Yes. She was seeing Angels, and YES!!! she was seeing JESUS!!! When she would see Jesus, I would hear her whisper, "not yet, I'm not ready". I asked her if Jesus was asking her to come with him, and she would blink. Yes. This would go on throughout that day. Then at one point, her eyes widened and she whispered as loud as she could, "The colors!". I went through all of the usual questions, but no "yes". Then I asked, "Heaven? Are you seeing Heaven?" Then came the blink. Yes.

Oh the mix of emotions to know that your daughter is actually seeing Jesus, Angels, and the colors of Heaven. It's so hard to explain, but all of this was in a way comforting. I believed that Heaven was real, but to hear and see my daughter get so excited ...I KNOW it's real.

That night, around midnight, Taylor left with Jesus for her adventure.

One day, I'll see her there and I'm looking forward to that adventure.

*If you've wondered about life after death, under my RECOMMENDED READING link, check out the book "Imagine Heaven".

*If you've wondered whether or not you are going to experience eternal suffering or eternal joy after this life, then decide this very moment to acknowledge Jesus is Lord and ask him to be Lord over your life.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:9-13 NIV
