In my previous blog "Behind the Scenes of Writing My First Book", I mentioned that I had a prophetic dream. I am a dreamer. I am a dreamer that dreams not just from the heart and mind but dreams dreams from the Lord. Maybe you are one of those people too?
Dreams are one way that God speaks to his people.
(Look at the life of Joseph in the Bible as one example of how God speaks to his people through dreams and gives them insight into their future.) (Genesis 37)
As time has gone on, I've learned how to interpret most of the dreams that I have along with the dreams that my husband, and two daughters have. -Yep, we are a family of dreamers! In fact we've had some really fun experiences with God where he's given more than one of us the same dream on the same night!
I want to help you understand how to interpret your dreams so that you can not only hear what God is saying to you, but where he is leading you for a blessed life.
Interpreting your dreams can be easier than you think if you follow these 10 Simple Steps:
After you wake up, think about your dream and try to mull over the details in your mind; trying to remember them. If this dream is from the Lord, it will stand out in your mind. It might be very vivid or it might stick with you throughout the day, it might also have created an emotional connection. These are all indicators.
Write down or audio record your dream. Many times you will start to understand the meaning as you are verbally speaking out the story line or listening to what you have recorded.
After recording your dream, think about what you had just asked God for in prayer or what's been on your heart lately. Often times dreams are the answer to your question.
The people in the dream matter. Did you recognize anyone? The names of the people have meanings. Look up the meaning of the person's name and then insert that meaning into the placement of where you saw them in the dream. If the meaning of the name doesn't fit or make sense, then seeing that person could also represent their position in life such as leader, parent, police officer, or father figure just to name a few.
Numbers have meaning. Pay attention to any numbers as they may represent timing or they may represent the symbolic meaning of the number itself. A good refrence for looking into the meaning of numbers are
