Is it better to hope or never to hope at all? What really is false hope? Isn't it when we put our faith in the impossible with unrealistic expectations?
For people of faith, are there such things as "unrealistic expectations?"
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
Often times the fear of failure overwhelms us so much so that we find comfort in declaring that "we don't want to have false hope". At other times, people will speak over us words of doubt such as "you don't want to get your hopes up". Either way, hope is abandond and doubt has overcome faith. As believers, we should never abandon hope because hope is tied to faith. As long as we have faith we have hope.
The #1 Lie About False Hope is that it exists.
False hope does not exist for people of faith.
God seems to connect me with people who have a terminal illness. I know in part that the reason behind these connections is so that I will be an encouragement to them as they go through this journey. The journey may lead to miraculous healing on this side of eternity or healing in Heaven. Every time at the beginning of these relationships it's somewhat easy to be encouraging, optimistic, and hopeful. Then as time goes on that's when faith really needs to kick in. I choose hope.
Continue tohold onto hope.
Hold onto hope for what God has placed in your heart, even when the circumstances seem to scream otherwise.
Hold onto hopefor and along side the person who's fighting for their health, marriage, finances, etc.
Hold onto hope because false hope does not exist for people of faith and YOU are one of those people.
